We would like to thank Masguda I. Shamsutdinova for an amazing concert performance at our club, The American Tatar Association in New York on Sunday October 19, 2003 . Ms. Shamsutdinova visited us from 10/18-10/28/03.
It was a pleasure for us to have Ms. Shamsutdinova who talked about the background of the Tatars, sang Tatar folk songs, played her compositions on the piano and even danced Tatar dances. What an inspiration for our young children. It brought tears to our eyes, when she sang the song about an old couple. There was not dry eye in the building when she got us all to sing in our native language, song called “Ee Togan Tel”, lyrics by Abdullah Tukay.
Our best wishes to Masguda Shamsutdinova in her future endeavors. We hope to see her in New York again in the very near future.
